Unit Mission
ELLIS Unit Amsterdam connects the city’s AI research ecosystem with the wider European networks, promoting collaboration, entrepreneurship, and talent development. Its mission is to strengthen Amsterdam’s technological competitiveness and foster impactful AI research. The unit focuses on computer vision, information retrieval, machine learning for health, ML foundations, natural language processing, socially intelligent artificial systems, and table representation learning. The unit creates a vibrant research community and facilitates knowledge exchange, public-private collaborations, and European integration of AI research, ensuring wide-reaching academic and societal impact.
