Theory, Algorithms and Computations of Modern Learning Systems
Mission
The rapid development of machine learning and AI has left a widening gap between empirical performance and theoretical understanding. The program brings together experts from different parts of the theoretical ML community to help form connections, and develop more holistic understanding of contemporary algorithms and architectures.
Highlights
'- A virtual Christmas meet-up during Covid in late 2020
- A workshop in Arenzano, Italy, June 2022
- A workshop for junior researchers in Tübingen in June 2023
- A workshop on Probabilistic Numerics an Physics-Informed ML at Aalto University in June 2024
- A workshop in Oberwolfach (with the aforementioned Program on Interactive Learning) in January 2025
Collaborations
The program has organized joint events with the ELLIS Program on Interactive Learning and Interventional Representations.
