PhD Position in Efficient Test-Time Model Adaptation in Dynamic Edge Environments

Are you passionate about Foundation Models, Machine Learning, and Edge Intelligence? Aarhus University in Denmark is offering a fully funded PhD position within the innovative A3 Lab (Adaptive & Agentic AI)!

The Challenge:
Traditional AI models often struggle in volatile real-world conditions, leading to unreliable outputs in mission-critical applications like autonomous robotics and real-time industrial monitoring.

Your Mission:
You will bridge this gap by designing a high-performance, low-latency framework for Test-Time Adaptation (TTA). Your research will empower AI models to become "self-aware"—autonomously monitoring environmental shifts, detecting uncertainties, and adapting on-the-fly directly on edge devices under strict energy and computational limits.

Why You Should Apply:

  • Top-Tier Impact: Publish your findings at elite machine learning venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR) and validate your theories on state-of-the-art edge testbeds.
  • World-Class Mentorship: Work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment under the primary supervision of Dr. Behzad Bozorgtabar and co-supervision of Prof. Qi Zhang.
  • Fully Funded Fellowship: Enjoy the exceptional research culture and work-life balance that Denmark has to offer.

Who They Are Looking For:
An ambitious tech mind holding a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field. You should be highly proficient in Python/PyTorch, with a deep interest in modern neural architectures, computer vision, or edge-specific model compression.

📅 Application Deadline: August 15, 2026
