Principal AI Research Scientist — NEST (probabilistic world models & multi-scale energy systems) - remote

Founding Principal AI Research Scientist for NEST — a frontier-AI research programme by Open Earth Foundation with IIASA, Imperial College London, CEU and the Active Inference Institute (supported by Schmidt Sciences). The role defines architectures for reasoning across nested spatial, temporal and institutional scales — probabilistic world models, multi-agent coordination, and planning under uncertainty — applied to multi-scale energy transitions. Remote; 3-year; strong fit for probabilistic programming, world models, scientific ML, or active inference. PhD in AI/ML with real depth in probabilistic reasoning; climate background welcome but not required. Compensation $80–130k USD, negotiable.
