MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026: Physical AI at Aarhus University

The Adaptive & Agentic AI (A3) Lab at Aarhus University, led by Assoc. Prof. Behzad Bozorgtabar, is seeking an excellent postdoctoral fellowship candidate to co-develop an application for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026.

This is a proposal-development and nomination opportunity, not a pre-secured funded postdoctoral position. The selected candidate will work with the A3 Lab to prepare a competitive MSCA fellowship proposal hosted at Aarhus University.

The proposed research will focus on Physical AI: developing safe, adaptive, and reliable embodied AI systems that can perceive, reason, and act in the physical world. The project will be closely connected to vision-language-action models, robotic foundation models, multimodal reasoning, and safe test-time adaptation for deployment under distribution shift, uncertainty, and real-world constraints.

Possible research directions include efficient adaptation of foundation models for robotics, safety-governed vision-language-action policies, multimodal perception and action, robust physical reasoning, human-aware embodied AI, and reliable deployment of AI systems in safety-critical environments.

We are particularly interested in strong candidates with a PhD in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, embodied AI, multimodal learning, foundation models, or a related area. Candidates should have a strong publication record in top venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, CoRL, ICRA, IROS, MICCAI, or related journals.

Eligibility highlights:

  • The candidate must have successfully defended their PhD by the MSCA 2026 deadline.
  • The candidate must satisfy the MSCA mobility rule: they must not have lived or worked in Denmark for more than 12 months in the 36 months before the call deadline.
  • Interested candidates are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible, as Aarhus University provides training and proposal-support sessions for MSCA applicants.

To apply, please send your CV and a brief research statement highlighting your experience and fit to: behzad@ece.au.dk
