PhD position in Responsible AI/Computational Social Science at Politecnico di Milano

We invite expressions of interest from highly motivated candidates for a fully-funded PhD position in the Information Technology program at Politecnico di Milano, focusing on Responsible AI and Computational Social Science. The duration of the PhD program is 3 years and it includes a mandatory 3-6 months abroad.

The PhD will be carried out within the ELLIS Unit Milan and the Data Science Lab and will explore the development and application of data-driven and machine learning methods to study, design, and evaluate digital information ecosystems.

Research topics include (but are not limited to): generative AI and large language models, online misinformation and manipulation, algorithmic bias and fairness, social media analysis, AI auditing, and the societal impact of AI systems.

The research environment is highly international and research-driven, with the goal of publishing in top-tier venues including and not limited to AAAI, ACL, EMNLP, and The Web Conference, and collaborating with leading academic and industry partners.
