PhD and Postdoc Positions in Visual Computing at University of Bonn

The Learning and Optimisation for Visual Computing group at University of Bonn (Germany) is looking for outstanding candidates (PhD/Postdoc, fully-funded) in our ERC Starting Grant project (HARMONY) that focuses on cutting-edge research in visual computing. The overarching aim of HARMONY is to understand commonalities in visual data (e.g. images, videos, 3D shapes), while relating these to underlying fundamental principles (e.g. geometry, or physics). Joining our team will allow you to work on exciting research questions that push the current boundaries of visual computing.

We are specifically looking for talent with a background in (at least) one of the following areas:
- Shape analysis and geometry processing
- Mathematical optimisation (discrete/continuous)
- Geometric deep learning
- Physics-based deep learning (including generative models)
- Graph-based machine learning and graph algorithms
