Development of AI Methods for Self-Driving Labs at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

As a successful candidate, you will work on the development of machine learning methods in the AI for Materials Science (AiMat) group of Pascal Friederich. You will cooperate with partners in the US-German (DMREF-DFG) research collaboration “NeuroTronics”, focusing on the design of doped semiconducting polymers using machine learning methods and self-driving labs. In particular, you will perform research in the emerging area of autonomous decision-making methods based on Bayesian optimization methods at KIT. You will collaborate with partners in the US on their integration into automated synthesis and characterization workflows. Your work will include the preparation of scientific manuscripts and the presentation of your results at workshops and conferences.
