Say hi to Virginia Dignum, Professor at Umeå University / AI Policy Lab 🇸🇪
She’s an ELLIS Fellow and member of the ELLIS Program “Human-Centric Machine Learning.”
She works on responsible AI, addressing issues of ethics, accountability, and governance in autonomous and intelligent systems. Her goal is to ensure AI technologies are socially beneficial and trustworthy.
A career highlight is the upcoming release of her book “The AI Paradox” published by Princeton University Press. She said, “Writing it for a broad, non-specialist audience pushed me well outside my comfort zone, but the book reflects my commitment to making complex AI issues, such as ethics, responsibility, and societal impact, accessible and relevant beyond academia.”
