Meet Micol Spitale, Assistant Professor (tenture-track) at Politecnico di Milano 🇮🇹 Her research areas cover Human-Robot Interaction, Social Signal Processing, Affective Computing, Human-centred AI.
She’s an ELLIS Member, part of the ELLIS Unit Milan.
Her advice for early-career female scientists is to seek out mentors who understand the unique challenges and fears they may face. She says, “An experienced woman in academia can offer guidance with empathy and compassion, providing support that is often more valuable than any technical advice. Building these connections early can make a meaningful difference in both confidence and career growth.”
