Spotlight on Hayley Hung

#WomenInELLIS
Say hi to Hayley Hung, Associate Professor at Delft University of Technology 🇳🇱 She researches Multimodal Machine Learning and Social and Affective Computing.

She’s an ELLIS Fellow and part of the ELLIS Unit Delft.

With the ELLIS Unit Delft, she is involved in a new initiative called Metascience for Machine Learning, which aims to hold a magnifying glass up to the ways of doing ML research and offer the community clear frameworks to understand what implicit as well as explicit factors that they could be using to inform better research practices.

A career challenge for her has been learning how to work less while parenting a young child, which includes being more kind to herself and sharpening her vision on how she wanted to contribute and what she can say no to. She immediately turns this around to supporting junior researchers in similar situations.
