Spotlight on Georgiana Ifrim
She also leads the Research IrelandL Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning (ML Labs) where she and her team are proud to have trained more than 120 PhDs in AI/ML and now see them have an impact on industry and society.
Her short and long-term goal is to communicate, communicate, communicate. When it comes to AI/ML people tend to take either doomer (reject) or boomer (embrace) approaches and we need more nuanced conversations around the benefits and the risks of AI/ML research and technologies. She recommends RINN AI for doing a lot in this space.
She wanted to participate in this campaign because, “Women need role models and we need to be willing to be those role models. We still have work to do in gender equality, especially equality of opportunity. I care deeply about having more women in key positions for decision making.”
