Say hi to Elisabeth Lex, Professor at Graz University of Technology 🇦🇹 and ELLIS Scholar part of the ELLIS Unit Graz. Her research interests include human-centric AI, with a particular focus on cognition-informed recommender systems that integrate insights from cognitive science to better align algorithmic decision-making with human needs, values, and behavior.
She says her long-term goal is to advance human-centric AI systems that are fair and inclusive by design. In particular, she aims to develop recommender systems that account for diverse user needs and abilities, ensuring that AI supports trust, autonomy, and societal well-being rather than optimizing only for the majority.
