Spotlight on Ana Lucic

Meet Ana Lucic, Assistant Professor at University of Amsterdam 🇳🇱 with a joint position between the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) and the Informatics Institute. In her research, she works on (mechanistic) interpretability for applications in science and society.
She is an ELLIS Member and member of the ELLIS Unit Amsterdam. Nature recently published results of her and her team's AI-powered weather forecasting model, Microsoft Research's Aurora. It explains how the model goes beyond weather forecasting to more accurately predict a range of environmental events, from hurricanes and typhoons to air quality and ocean waves.
