Spotlight on Akshita Gupta
#WomenInELLIS
Meet Akshita Gupta, ELLIS PhD Student at TU Darmstadt 🇩🇪 with an exchange visit at Google Zurich. Her research area is multimodal reasoning and generation with focus on developing methods for long-form videos.
Through the ELLIS PhD Program Industry Track, she is co-supervised by ELLIS Fellows in 2 different countries. At TU Darmstadt she is advised by Marcus Rohrbach & Anna Rohrbach, and at Google Zurich her advisor is Federico Tombari.
She says, “A meaningful career highlight for me was my first job at Inception, which helped shape who I am today and led to opportunities to intern at places like Apple, Microsoft Research, and the Vector Institute.” Working at those places helped shape the direction she wanted to pursue in her PhD.
The main reason she wanted to take part in this campaign is to share her own journey and experiences since it might help someone else learn, grow, or feel encouraged at an early stage of their career. 👏🏻
