NeurIPS 2025: ELLIS Member & PhD Students Contributions
The annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems - NeurIPS - is one of the world’s premier gatherings in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Since its founding in 1987, it has brought together researchers from across disciplines, including machine learning, statistics, computational neuroscience, and cognitive science, to share the latest breakthroughs in AI.
NeurIPS will be held in San Diego, California, from December 2-7. This year introduces an exciting new dimension with EurIPS, a Europe-based presentation venue for NeurIPS-accepted papers. EurIPS is officially endorsed by NeurIPS, co-developed by ELLIS, and takes place concurrently in Copenhagen.
By shining a spotlight on ELLIS Members and PhD Students' contributions to NeurIPS, we aim to demonstrate just how many top-tier researchers belong to our network — and how much they contribute to shaping the future of AI. It’s also a way to celebrate their success and encourage continued collaboration within the ELLIS community
Some statistics: Among ELLIS Members, 520 unique authors contributed to 418 papers with ELLIS Fellows and Scholars. The ELLIS PhD Program is also strongly represented, with 56 ELLIS PhD Students contributing across formats, including 2 oral presentations, 7 spotlight papers, and 76 poster presentations.
A noteworthy highlight: 12.9% of all NeurIPS-accepted papers this year included ELLIS authors — roughly one in eight. With our growing member base, this represents almost a 33% increase in ELLIS-affiliated contributions compared to last year. This remarkable share, in a conference drawing from hundreds of institutions worldwide, underscores the strong and rising global scientific impact of the ELLIS community.
Below you’ll find this year’s contributions listed - have a look to see who will be present at NeurIPS and EurIPS. Huge congratulations to all authors!
