ELLIS Multimodal Learning Systems Program meets in Spain

The ELLIS Multimodal Learning Systems Program held its annual meeting in Vall de Núria, Spain, bringing together 19 researchers for two days of scientific exchange, collaboration, and strategic planning.

The retreat, which took place in July, provided an opportunity to reflect on ongoing research activities, share recent advances, and discuss future directions for the program.

The scientific agenda covered a broad range of topics, including egocentric vision, foundation models, medical imaging, document understanding and other emerging areas of multimodal artificial intelligence.

Participants presented their latest work, exchanged ideas, and explored new opportunities for collaboration. Beyond the scientific sessions, the meeting featured multiple opportunities for social activities designed to strengthen connections within the program, and foster the collaborative spirit that characterizes the ELLIS community.

The meeting was organised and hosted by the ELLIS Unit Barcelona and the Computer Vision Centre, with the support of Barcelona City Council and the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Catalan Government.
