ELLIS Summer School at Unit Saarbrücken
The summer school will focus on key technical and ethical challenges applying AI to drug discovery, with a particular focus on model robustness, interpretability, and compliance with safety standards. Topics will include (adversarial) robustness, privacy-aware machine learning, and explainability, as well as dual-use considerations, where AI tools developed for biomedical applications may have unintended alternative uses. The program will adopt an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating insights from security, machine learning, cheminformatics, and structural bioinformatics, while also considering relevant regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act that may influence future research directions.
