ELIAS & HPI Engine "How to Be a (Startup-) CTO" Summer School

ELIAS Startup Opportunities and HPI Engine host the "How to Be a (Startup-) CTO" Summer School at HPI Potsdam.

The Summer School “How to Be a (Startup) CTO” is an intensive 4-day seminar for master’s students and PHD candidates who want to explore the full role of a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in a startup or tech company. The program is taught by experienced CTOs and startup founders, covering everything from technology strategy and AI-first company building to leadership, hiring, and fundraising. Participants will engage in classes, panel discussions, fireside chats, and a company visit in Berlin.

They have reserved 20 spots for ELLIS and ELIAS affiliated participants, i.e., PhD candidates and postdocs. Travel and accommodation will be fully covered.

The application is lightweight: a short motivation (3–5 sentences), a CV, and a certificate of enrollment.

Registration Deadline: 28.08.2026

This Summer School is jointly organised by ELIAS Startup Opportunities and HPI Engine at Hasso Plattner Institut, a participating institution of the ELLIS Unit Potsdam.
