Open Tenure-track and Tenured AI Faculty Positions at INSAIT
The Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT, https://insait.ai/), created in Sofia, Bulgaria in partnership with Switzerland’s ETH Zurich and EPFL, seeks candidates for faculty positions starting immediately, or on a mutually agreed date thereafter.
Founded in 2022, INSAIT’s mission is to become a world-class computer science and AI research institution and it recently became an ELLIS unit (https://ellis.eu/units/sofia). INSAIT is structured similarly to top U.S. and European research institutions (tenure-track and tenured faculty positions, PhD duration, etc.). It also provides outstanding working conditions, in terms of facilities, packages, resources, and salaries.
Salary
Tenure-track faculty positions: starting at 100,000 EUR per annum + signing bonus.
Tenured faculty positions: starting at 150,000 EUR per annum + signing bonus.
*Note that Bulgaria has a flat tax rate of 10%.
Eligibility
We welcome excellent faculty applicants in all areas of artificial intelligence, both tenure-track faculty as well as tenured researchers. Faculty duties involve supervision of doctoral students as well as (optionally) teaching a graduate course in the specialty area of the candidate. Opportunities to supervise B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses are also possible due to INSAIT being well integrated with the local university.
To be eligible for this position candidates should:
– have earned a Ph.D. in computer science or closely related areas by the start of the position;
– demonstrate evidence they are able to pursue a strong and independent research program;
