The Lisbon Machine Learning Summer School (LxMLS 2025) is scheduled for July 19–25, 2025, at the Congress Center of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon, Portugal. This in-person event offers a comprehensive program featuring morning lectures and afternoon lab sessions, covering a range of machine learning topics essential for natural language processing. The school is designed for researchers, graduate students, and industry practitioners with a basic background in mathematics and programming.
The Lisbon Machine Learning Summer School (LxMLS) will take place at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) from the 19th to 25th of July as an in-person event.
The school is organised jointly by Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), a leading Engineering and Science school in Portugal, the ELLIS Unit Lisbon for Learning and Intelligent Systems, the Instituto de Telecomunicações, the Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Investigação e Desenvolvimento (INESC-ID), Unbabel, Zendesk, and IBM Research.
The program covers a range of machine learning topics, from theory to practice, including neural networks, transformers, sequence models, causality, vision & language.
The school is aimed at researchers and graduate students in the fields of NLP and computational linguistics, computer scientists interested in statistics and machine learning, and industry practitioners who desire a more in depth understanding of these subjects.
