3D Perception, Reconstruction, and Understanding of Large-Scale Scenes
Haofei Xu (Ph.D. Student)
This project aims to explore how to enable 3D perception and understanding of large-scale scenes in the following aspects: 1) 3D representation. How to efficiently and effectively represent 3D remains to be an open problem, especially for large-scale scenes. 2) 3D reconstruction and synthesis. Achieving 3D reconstruction and synthesis is an essential step to enable various downstream applications in 3D. 3) 3D understanding. Besides geometry and appearance, having a high-level 3D understanding of the 3D scene would greatly enrich our life experience. The goal of this project is to tackle these open problems by developing novel geometric and learning-based approaches.
