The Computer Vision & Learning Group led by Prof. Dr. Björn Ommer at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) focuses on research in computer vision and machine learning, with particular emphasis on image and video understanding, generative models for visual synthesis, and explainable AI. The lab is well-known for its work such as the development of Stable Diffusion, which has democratized AI-based image generation. They are looking for a Scientific Lab Coordinator to organize the lab’s research, grant-writing, and PR matters – all scientific coordination duties that go beyond those of the existing administrative assistant of the lab. The successful candidate will directly support lab head Björn Ommer.
Key responsibilities:
- Communication: Engage in communication with all members of the lab and with external academic and industrial collaboration partners. Drive press relations, public outreach, and contacts to politics
- Networking: Build and maintain collaborations with researchers and industry partners, represent the lab and the foundation model project at meetings and events
- Administration: Oversee the scientific progress of our grants and compile regular reports for funding agencies
- Writing: Provide substantial assistance in the writing of new grant proposals, help with literature studies, and all formal matters
- Team Management: Assist in HR-related matters of the lab
- Research Integrity: Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations, promote transparency in research.
