Postdoc Opening in Robot Learning at TU Darmstadt (ERC Project SIREN)
We are seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the PEARL Lab at TU Darmstadt, Germany, as part of the ERC Starting Grant project SIREN (Structured Interactive Perception and Learning for Holistic Robotic Embodied Intelligence), led by Prof. Georgia Chalvatzaki.
SIREN aims to develop structured, grounded, and physically-consistent methods for interactive robot perception and learning. Our goal is to scale robot behaviors efficiently and robustly through a combination of geometric learning, generative dynamics modeling, and the integration of foundation models.
Position Details
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to one or more of the following areas:
• Robot learning & modular control
• Geometric representation learning
• SE(3)-equivariant models
• Generative models for dynamics and policies
• Grounding and representation learning
• Distillation of foundation models (e.g., VLMs, LLMs) into robotic architectures
Note: We do not expect expertise in all areas—candidates with a strong foundation in one or more relevant topics are encouraged to apply.
What We Offer
• A central role in an ambitious ERC-funded project
• Access to real robotic platforms and extensive experimental setups
• A supportive and interdisciplinary research environment
• Competitive salary according to E13 TV-L
• 30 days paid vacation (excluding weekends/holidays)
• Free public transportation across Hessen
• Family-friendly, flexible working conditions
How to Apply
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
