The Role:
We're seeking exceptional Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists to join our team and help shape the future of open-source AI in Europe. You'll work at the cutting edge of language model development, collaborating with talented peers across Europe to build, optimize, and deploy models that serve diverse European communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement efficient pipelines for pre-training large language models at scale
Develop instruction-tuning methodologies to enhance model chat capabilities
Create comprehensive evaluation frameworks to benchmark model performance across multiple dimensions, such as multi-linguality, reasoning or common sense question / answering.
Lead code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior team members
Represent our research by publishing at top-tier AI conferences, contribute to open-source projects, and engage with the wider AI community
Requirements:
A finalized or close to completion MSc degree, in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another discipline with a strong computational component.
Track record in machine learning development demonstrated through contributions to notable open-source projects or significant industry experience
Strong programming skills in Python with an emphasis on clean, maintainable code
Proficiency in deep learning and at least one deep-learning framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX)
Experience with bash scripts, git, MLops platforms (e.g Weights and Biases)
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
