A Postdoctoral Researcher and two Doctoral Researchers in AI and Foundation Models
The Department of Computing at University of Turku is seeking one Postdoctoral Researcher and two Doctoral Researchers to join Assistant Professor Shaoxiong Ji's research group, part of the ELLIS Institute Finland and TurkuNLP. The group focuses on advancing AI and Foundation Model research, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications.
Key research areas for these positions include:
LLM Post-Training Techniques: Developing advanced methods for fine-tuning, reasoning, alignment, and knowledge injection to improve LLM performance and safety.
Multilingualism in LLMs: Researching techniques to enhance LLM performance across various languages, including those with limited resources.
AI for Healthcare: Designing and evaluating LLM-powered agents for clinical support, medical information retrieval, patient education, and workflow automation, while addressing concerns of fairness, bias, explainability, and privacy.
Multimodality in LLMs: Creating and assessing multimodal LLMs that can integrate and reason across different data types, such as clinical text, medical images, and electronic health records, especially within healthcare contexts.
